Laurieston Tennis Club Coaching Programme

JUNIOR NIGHTS

With a growing number of juniors at the club and our volunteer coaches unable to commit the time they have done previously, we have been looking into  professional coaching for the juniors.

This would be fantastic for the kids to be able to take their tennis to a higher level.

The coaching will still be held on Monday nights but will now be run by Tim and Mark  who you might have met as they took a session last October. Our young volunteers who helped last  year will still be involved.

We have proposed a trial run for this to see if it is viable, as the club proposes to subsidise the cost of the coaching in order to keep the cost down for everyone.  So if you are interested, please come

along to the coaching sessions which will start on 27th February   (Please note the earlier start  - membership renewal will still take place in April)

The coaching times have been changed as follows:-

5.30-6.30        5-8 year olds   Red ball

6.30- 7.30  8-13 year olds    Green    ,orange and beginner yellow ball.

7.30-9  Older players /experienced younger players

These ages are flexible and you may be advised by the coaches to move to another class.

We are proposing the cost of the coaching will be £3 or £5  for 2 children in the one family.

For the trial period - if this money can be given in cash to Tim or Mark

After the trial period it will be possible to pay online, More details on this will follow.

ADULT COACHING

We are now in a position to offer coaching for adults either  individual or  in classes.  These will be run by either Tim (level 3 coach) or Mark (he has nearly completed level 3)

This is quality coaching with technical skill and game play development. They would be happy to  coach the  mens  teams on Thursday nights in the weeks before the leagues begin.

Craig will be in touch with the men about this.l

They could also do a ladies beginners /intermediate class on a Thursday night.

If you would be interested in coaching, it would be helpful if you could let us know.  We won't hold you to it, but it would give us an idea of demand.

Classes are obviously a lot cheaper than individual lessons which are  around  £25 a time.
